REVIEW – In our house, we have a central location where everyone, family and friends alike, can come to charge their iPhones and iPads. In the past, I used an Anker USB charger with five USB-A ports for this purpose. These days, most of our gadgets use USB-C, so it’s time to update the charger. I’m reviewing Oraimo’s USB charger to see if it’s ready to take this job.

The Oraimo USB charger (model OCW-A108F) is a small, corded charger with three USB-C ports, one USB-A port, and two AC outlets.

The Amazon page, box, and welcome guide all assert that there’s a USB-C cable in the box, but there wasn’t one in my box. As the box arrived having already been opened, it appears that Oraimo is sending out used units instead of new ones. If you buy a product from Oraimo, check your box and make sure they sent you a new product with everything that should be included. Oraimo sent me a USB-C cable separately.

The Oraimo USB charger (model OCW-A108F) is a small, dense, black and grey box. The USB ports on are on top, the AC outlets are on either side, and the cable comes out the back. It’s a simple yet effective design.

I took everything out of the box and removed the packaging. No setup is required.

In our living room, we have a small bookcase that serves as our central charging location. The charger lives on the floor behind the bookcase, multiple cables are plugged in and held in place with small cable clips. This allows anyone to easily plug in their device and set it on the bookcase.

Many USB chargers plug directly into the wall, but that type of design won’t work for me here because it sticks out too far and prevents the bookcase from being close to the wall. Oraimo’s charger has a cord with a flag wall plug, which allows me to place it on the floor between the baseboard and the back of the bookcase; this is perfect because it uses very little space. Unfortunately, because the AC outlets are on either side, I won’t be able to use them.

I first tested the Oraimo USB charger by simultaneously charging two iPads and an iPhone, and it worked perfectly. While charging, the charger case was somewhat warm to the touch, but not hot enough for me to be concerned. Over the following weeks, we’ve used this charger nearly every day, and it has always worked perfectly.

This charger has 120 watts of charging power, but the amount of actual power available depends upon which port I use and how many gadgets I am charging at once. The images below are from Oraimo’s Amazon page, and they describe my options.

If I am only charging one USB-C gadget, I can get 100 watts.

If I am charging two USB-C gadgets, I can get 60 watts each or 90 on one and 30 on the other.

If I am charging three USB-C gadgets, I can get 45, 45, and 30 watts.

If I am charging three USB-C and one USB-A gadget, I can get 45 watts on two ports and 24 combined on the other two.

Oraimo’s USB-C charger provides up to 120 watts of charging power through three USB-C ports and one USB-A port as well as two AC outlets. It has a simple yet effective design. I have replaced my older Anker charger with this new one, and it’s worked out perfectly. My only concern is that the unit Oraimo sent to me was used and did not include the USB-C cable that is supposed to be in the box. If you buy a product from Oraimo, it’s probably a good idea to buy it from Amazon so that you can easily return it if necessary.
